Maria Fernanda de Mattos is a Brazilian Photographer-Artist, born in Sao Paulo, living in Europe.Since she graduate in her native city (BA, Publicity and Advertisement) Fernanda has been going throught a researching and study period who led her undertaking courses of Photography, Video and Semiotics in Visual Arts in both Saint Martins College of Arts and Tate Modern, in London.Travelling has been a big potential for the production of reportages in South America and Europe, but her photography is inspired by a variety of sources.

Fernanda s pictures can be sensitive to the dinamic and realism of everyday life and movements or carefully prepared like scenarios, where the object and characters are instead living apart in a world that she thinks and creates giving a new value and meaning to objects, details, positions, signs, colors, moments.Often manipulation and postproduction process bring those scenarios to a next level.

At the same time she works as freelance photographer doing events reportage for magazines,cover concept/design for releases of indie record labels, press pictures for musicians-artists and various other commercial briefs that help her out to concentrate on the production of future exhibitions and projects. She also collaborate with various artists specialized in different media opening her view to unlimited prospectives.
